n8n for businesses

n8n is a workflow automation platform that allows applications, databases, and AI models to be connected via a visual editor. We use n8n as the automation engine behind our solutions: It connects email, CRM, ERP, document storage, and language models to create workflows that do not require copy-and-paste.

What we use n8n for

  • Process requests automatically

Emails, forms, and calls are captured, classified, and passed on to the right system or person.

  • Connecting Systems

CRM, ERP, accounting, calendar, and filing exchange data without anyone typing it in.

  • Integrate AI into processes

Language models summarize, extract data from documents or design responses – embedded in a comprehensible workflow.

  • Control agents

AI agents access shared tools and data via n8n, with clear boundaries and protocol.

Why n8n?

  • Open source and self-hostable

The source code can be viewed, and n8n runs on its own servers. Your data does not have to go through the cloud of a US provider.

  • Traceable instead of black box

Every step of a workflow is visible and logged. Errors can be found, processes can be checked.

  • No cost per run

Self-hosted doesn't charge per workflow execution, unlike many cloud automation services.

  • Code where needed

Where the visual editor is not enough, JavaScript or Python steps can be integrated.

What we take care of with n8n

  • Process recording: which processes are worthwhile and which are not
  • Own n8n instance for your company – on your infrastructure or on a server in Germany
  • Construction, testing and documentation of workflows
  • Connection of your systems and language models
  • Updates, backups and monitoring during operation
  • Training to help your team customize workflows

Implementation and consulting can often be subsidised through German BAFA or INQA funding.

What it is not meant for

n8n is not a replacement for an ERP or CRM system, but connects them. And n8n is under the Sustainable Use License, a "fair code" license: The source code is open, and use for internal business purposes is free. This does not cover a common instance in which several customers build workflows themselves – which is why each customer gets their own instance.

Frequently asked questions about n8n

How much does n8n cost?

+

The self-hosted Community Edition is free of charge for internal business purposes. Costs are incurred for servers, setup and operation. How much this is depends on the number and complexity of the workflows – we clarify this in the initial meeting.

Is n8n open source?

+

Not in the strict sense. n8n is under the Sustainable Use License and describes itself as "fair-code": The source code is public and may be used and adapted for one's own purposes, commercial resale as a service is restricted.

Is n8n GDPR compliant?

+

n8n itself is a tool; the decisive factor is where it runs and what data flows through. Self-hosted on servers in Germany, the data remains under your control. If external services are connected, each of them requires its own check.

What is the difference between n8n, Zapier and Make?

+

Zapier and Make only run in the provider's cloud and charge per execution. n8n can be self-hosted, has no execution fees and allows its own code. This requires someone to operate the server.

Can we maintain the workflows ourselves later?

+

Yes. The workflows are yours, documented and readable in the visual editor. If desired, we can train your team so that they can make adjustments themselves.
