GEO (Generative Engine Optimization)
GEO refers to optimizing content so that it is mentioned and cited in the responses of AI systems such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, or Google AI Overviews — in contrast to SEO, which aims for rankings in a results list.

What exactly does GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) mean?
The difference is fundamental: a results list shows ten results, while an AI response often names only two or three sources. If you do not appear there, you do not exist — there is no worse ranking.
What helps is different from classic SEO: clearly answered individual questions, your own verifiable figures, machine-readable markup of the content, and references outside your own domain that allow a model to recognize the company as a real entity.
