Structured Data (Schema.org)

Structured data are machine-readable additional details in a page’s source code that explicitly tell a search engine what the content means — for example, that a text block is a question with an answer or that a price belongs to a product.

What exactly does Structured Data (Schema.org) mean?

Without this markup, a machine has to infer meaning from the running text. With it, the meaning is stated explicitly, usually in JSON-LD format using the schema.org vocabulary. For AI answers, this is doubly useful: the information is unambiguous, and it links a page to a named organization or person instead of leaving it as anonymous text.
