The intended use, not the technology used, is decisive: the same model can be uncritical in one application and high-risk in another. It becomes particularly strict where decisions about people are made, for example in HR. The obligations apply in stages over several transition periods. For most SME use cases — telephone assistant, document search, internal processes — the requirements are in the area of transparency and labeling. The classification and deadline applicable in each individual case should be checked before going into production.
